November 17, 2013 Trinidad CA

Nov. 17, 2013 Trinidad, CA

Well, this is our second favorite place that we have visited!  We could 'possibly' live here or nearby! The rains from yesterday ended, so we drove down the Scenic Drive from Trinidad, and did a couple of pull-offs to see some beautiful scenery! This is just a beautiful bay area.  We went back to Trinidad and decided to hike the island loop trail and geo-cache.  When we reached the top, we met a couple sitting on the bench, who was just enjoying the view.  They were very friendly, and she (Betsy) asked us what brought us to this area.  We told them that we were geo-caching along with hiking, and she was very interested in it, so we took them along for our trip down the hill. They were very fun and they own a place about 7 miles from there, and they love it here.  We can see why.  After our fun hike and geo-caching, we left George and Betsy, and drove down to McKinleyville, CA to the Six Rivers Brewing Company and had their craft beer and halibut and chips.  It is a brewery, restaurant and sports bar all rolled into one, so we caught the tail end of the Packer game, and had fun with some of the other clientele. All in all, it was a fun day. We also made our camping reservations from the time we leave here until we get to Pahrump, NV.  We had to reroute, due to the big storm coming in from the coast on Monday night. We couldn't chance the snows that will be coming with that storm on the east side of the Sierra Nevada's, so we will play it safe.  Tomorrow is our last day here, so we'll try to get the rest of what we want to do, in tomorrow before the rains arrive.
