November 20, 2013 On the Road/Fresno CA

Nov. 20, 2013 Fresno, CA

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JUDY!
We have been traveling the past two days, with our first day a beautiful drive, even though it was drizzly and raining most of the time.  I can't image how pretty it would have been if the sun had been shining.  They needed the rain, as it hadn't rained in over two months. The tall grasses were just a bright golden against the dark trees, in one area.  We are out of the Redwoods, and the roads have been quite good, until today, when we ran into a lot of road construction!  We didn't enjoy today's drive at all.  Once we hit Sacramento, which was early on, it was like city driving until we landed in Fresno, CA for two days!  We have FOND memories of MT and the wide open spaces!   We had to change our route, due to the heavy rains coming in off the coast, and the east side of the Sierra Nevada's were to get six to twelve inches of snow from that system.  We certainly didn't want to be in that!  We hope to drive over to Sequoia National Park tomorrow, and if we do, I'll post a blog again, complete with pictures, I'm sure!
