We had
already made up our minds that we weren’t going to the Oktoberfest doings
today, as we couldn’t dance, and it started at noon. That gives the party goers twelve hours of
drinking beer, and we would be leaving earlier than 9:00, in that case! We did,
however, drive downtown this morning and listen to some great music by a trio in
the gazebo until the parade started. The
parade was short, but it was mainly the community German Band, dignitaries, and
the wagon pulled by a beautiful team of horses that carried the almighty keg of
beer! They had the tapping of the keg inside
the gate of the festivities, but we had seen that done before and didn’t feel
that we missed anything. Is this a sign
that we are getting old? We went to the
Icicle Microbrewery for a sandwich and a beer, and then we walked around town
looking for dessert. We left at 3:00 and
feel we had seen and done it all. We’ll
be leaving tomorrow, and look forward to our next adventure. I'm having problems posting pictures now, so will do that another time.
