Happy Birthday to our son-in-law, Philip O’Connor and
Happy Anniversary to our second daughter, Karla and her husband Worth. It’s 23 years for them. We hope you all found a way to celebrate
today!
It was our travel day today. After talking to the locals this weekend,
they all told us not to go through Seattle/Tacoma on a Sunday. So we had an alternate plan to go between Mt.
St. Helen and Mt. Rainer, which is what we wanted to do anyway. We were hooking up and getting ready to leave
and our neighbor in the next RV asked us where we were going. He told us that Hwy. 12 was closed due to
road washouts, so we went back to Plan A.
We had no problems going through Seattle/Tacoma and it also provided us
with the highlight of the day. We were
heading down I-5 when this Jeep passed us, and a blonde gal waved out the
window. We thought it was someone from
WI, and they saw our license plate, but I really thought it looked like our
daughter–in-law, Lori and I thought, ‘are those kids following us?’ I knew better than that, but it was a split
second thought. Soon the phone rang and
it was our friends, Roni and Bruce, and they are visiting friends in the area,
and happened to be on I-5 at the same time as us! Now what are the chances of
that happening? We hike with Bruce in AZ in the winter time, and they are from
Rockford IL. We got settled into the
Millersylvania State Park south of Olympia, the capitol of WA. We’ll be here a couple of days and then we’ll
head up to the peninsula.
I am finally able to upload some pictures from Leavenworth again, so you can get the full flavor of the festivities that go on the weekend of Oktoberfest.
